Minimize data loss with Bitdefender Internet Security V.10's new and improved scan engine that will scan and disinfect infected files. Instead of being deleted files ca now be recovered, and a new BitDefender module looks for rootkits, which are nasty programs designed to control victim computers, while staying hidden, and removes these on detection. With web traffic now being filtered in real-time even before reaching your browser, this provides you with a safe and pleasant web experience.
BitDefender utilizes a proactive detection device, B-HAVE (Behavioral Heuristic Analyzer in Virtual Environments), that emulates a virtual computer-inside-a-computer where pieces of software are run in order to check for potential malware behavior.
The BitDefender software includes Peer-2-Peer and IM Applications Protection. Filters against viruses that spread via instant messaging and file sharing software applications. Full E-mail Protection BitDefender runs on the POP3/SMTP protocol level, filtering incoming and outgoing e-mail messages, regardless of the e-mail client used (OutlookTM, Outlook ExpressTM, The Bat!TM, Netscape®, etc.), without any additional configuration. BitDefender Internet Security V10 is a great product at the price and very effective. And at the same time it holds a lot of nice features that you won’t find in many other similar products.
Antivirus
BitDefender’s specialty is detecting viruses. This software continually passes all tests given by ICSA, VB 100% and W.C.L, and it continually scans your computer for threats. You can easily scan your entire system or choose a specific area to scan like removable drives, memory or documents.
Configure the antivirus settings and make them able to meet your needs. You can choose one of three different levels of security—aggressive, default or permissive, or, you can set a custom level where you choose exactly what you want to scan and what you don’t.
Antispyware
With the antispyware tab you can access the spyware statistics. This includes cookies blocked, registry blocked, scripts blocked and more. Furthermore, you can choose the protection level to be aggressive, default or permissive.
BitDefender stops all threats including adware, keyloggers, trojans and browser hijackers.
Firewall
West Coast Labs (W.C.L.) certifies BitDefender’s Firewall. It continually monitors all incoming and outgoing data that makes it way to and from your PC. Within the firewall tab, you see a real–time graph. This makes it possible for you to visually see your computer’s communication with the Internet. BitDefender also monitors your Wi–Fi connection.
Configure the firewall by choosing one of the following four different settings: Ask, Allow all White Listed, Allow All and Deny All. Each of the settings differs as to what information it will allow in and out of your computer and whether it prompts you before transferring data.

The manufacturer’s website provides you with a nice guidance if you need this. With this program you have a good program that gives you a really good protection - and you don't have to do much - The program takes care of it all with its simplicity and automatic updates.
