VirusScan Plus is a good piece of software for antivirus protection. It's even better if you're using other McAfee products (this is thanks to its integration with McAfee Security Center). McAfee VirusScan Plus performs well in testing. With its behavior-based WormStopper and detection of "possibly unwanted programs" it goes beyond simple virus removal.
McAfee VirusScan Plus gives you 3-in-1 protection - anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall into a single, always-on, always up-to-date service to guard your hard drive, digital photos, music files, financial records, privacy, and Web browsing. With VirusScan Plus you have a piece of software that automatically looks for known and unknown threats in e-mail, downloads, IM, and media. If McAfee VirusScan Plus finds problems, it immediately attempts to clean, quarantine, or delete infections and it seeks to minimalize interruption to your work. Set VirusScan to scan your computer at a preprogrammed scheduled time, but be aware that you can't add several tasks to the Scheduled Scan. This would have been a nice quality so you could scan all files once a month and only program files weekly.
Ease of use
Stick to the default settings, and you'll experience the setup proces as problem free. With the Security Center's several tabs it's easy to maneuver around in VirusScan Plus.

Dont expect any problems. Just download and follow the guidance.
Effectiveness
This software has some remarkable testing results, with one of the best virus detection records. It has received the VB100% award for 2005, the ICSA award for 2005, and it has passed both level 1 & 2 Checkmarks from West Coast Labs. Finally, AV-Test.org reports 100 percent detection.
Updates
McAfee VirusScan Plus features an automatically download function of updated virus definitions from the Internet. This helps you keeping your computer healthy. McAfee comes sends out new virus definitions on a daily basis. Be aware that you need to register and login to get updates - this makes the process longer than it needs be.
Help/Support
Here youhave a wide array of help options, including documentation, email and phone support. As a result of this, it's somehow disappointing that it takes 5 days to respond an email and don´t expect them to answer all your questions.
