CA Antivirus is easy to use both for new, average and advanced users. It does a good job protecting your files and your computer from viruses. Be aware that the software doesn't scan for riskware, adware or spyware.
With the new feature called Snooze you can disable the program's real-time protection for a specified period from one to 99 minutes. This is great for new software installations or troubleshooting a system performance glitch or other problems. To deactivate Snooze, just click the Wake Now icon in the System Tray. If you forget this, the timer automatically turns off Snooze after the allotted time and restart the CA Antivirus protection.
CA Antivirus real-time scanner operates like most other AV software and runs in the background without much of a performance hit. CA now also a "quarantine" function for infected, unclean files. CA Anti-Virus provides comprehensive protection against viruses, worms and Trojan horse programs. The easy-to-use interface and frequent automatic updates make it effortless to stay protected, with quick scan times and efficient use of system resources.
Ease of use
Simply just install. With the pre-programmed settings you're protected immediately. You can easily schedule automatic virus scans, or do them on demand. You have quick and easy access to information that helps diagnosing and resolving problems. This product is perfect for the average user. If you're ane advanced user you may think that the software has a limited number of advanced features.
Ease of Installation
You shouldn't meet any problems during the installation proces. Follow the set-up wizard’s guidance and you'll be fine.
Effectiveness
Previous versions of CA Antivirus earned Virus Bulletin's VB100% rating in seven of its eight most recent Windows tests. It didn't score 100% while running on the Window ME operation system.
Updates
CA updates their virus definitions every day. Choose between automatic and manual updates. Updating is streamlined, with schedules and proxies being the configurable areas.
Help/Support
In this new edition, CA gives you up to $1,500 in technical service and hardware support if your computer suffers any damage from a virus after Antivirus is properly installed. CA has great support with their support page, Knowledge Base Search and FAQs page. The Interactive Virus Detection Messages provide links to helpful resources in the CA Virus Information Centre when threats are detected. The support team respondeds quickly. Overall, CA is very helpful. Unfortunately, the telephone support is quite expensive at $29.95.
